The WAY-D application can be used to inform dispatch of a driver's location while they are on a mission.

How do I activate geolocation on the WAY-D application?
To be able to use Way-D following an update and activate geolocation:
- Delete the application
- Restart your phone
- Redownload the WAY-D application. The new version is 2.3.16, published on 14 August 2025.
- Re-enter your code if you are asked for it again (This code is provided by your employer/contractor)
- Authorise geolocation for the application: phone settings, set to "Always" and "Exact position".
If you do not activate geolocation as described above, you will not be able to start your missions, and your geolocation will not be correctly transmitted to your employer and client.
With this version of WAY-D, if the user does not activate "Always", the geolocation is no longer transmitted when the application is in the background.
I'm a driver: who receives my location data?
After creating their profile, drivers need to link up to the WAY-Plan account of the company that employs them:
- After entering the WAY-D code provided by their dispatch centre, drivers receive the missions assigned to them.
- They can check in on the missions in real time: the application asks them to activate their location if they have not already done so.
- Their position is sent in real time to the dispatch centre for the schedule concerned while the mission is in progress.
- If the dispatch has authorised it, the requesting customer can also view the driver's position on a map up to the ‘Complete’ status of the mission concerned.
How do I disable geolocation?
In the ‘geolocation’ menu of the WAY-D application, drivers can remove location rights from their device.
If a driver no longer works with a company:
- He can remove the link with this company in the ‘WAY-D Code’ menu of his application.
- If the driver only worked with one company and wants to remove this link, he can request the deletion of his account and uninstall the application.
The application can only work and is only of interest if the driver is attached to at least one company.
Please note that :
- WAY-D has passed all the checks of the GDPR, Android and iOs stores on personal data management issues.
- Geolocation authorisation can be withdrawn at any time in the phone settings, in the application rights management.
- Drivers can update their profile regularly by deactivating the links between their account and the schedules of the companies to which they are attached.
